Just weeks ago, denizens of Harvard Square were faced with the loss of a landmark.

The Out of Town News kiosk has provided newspapers from around the world for decades, and people were shocked when the operators announced that it would close.

Now, it has a new operator, Mike Patel, who thinks he can make a go of it by expanding his selection of items like phone cards and energy drinks.
