Tift Merritt On Mountain Stage

Tift Merritt.
Set List
- "Hopes Too High"
- "Broken"
- "Another Country"
February 11, 2009 - After the success of Tift Merritt's second album Tambourine, the singer felt road-weary and uninspired. So she jetted off to an apartment in Paris, where she knew very few people and didn't speak the language. The singer-songwriter returned to the U.S. with the songs that would become her third release, appropriately titled Another Country.
Two of her supporting players, bassist Jay Brown and drummer Zeke Hutchins, played in one of Merritt's earliest North Carolina bands, The Carbines. They're joined in this set by guitarist Scott McCall and Dan Eisenberg on keyboards.
Merritt is set to release a solo acoustic live record this month, titled Buckingham Solo. It was recorded at an old church in Buckingham, England, in November 2008.
