Persian Gulf Sailor

Susan speaks with Petty Officer James Thompson aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence currently in the Persian Gulf. Thompson says that while he feels confident that his carrier could have staged effective strikes against Iraq, he and others on the ship are thankful the stand-off has ended peacefully.
