Historians Name Lincoln Best President Ever

President Lincoln was the best American president ever, according to a poll of 65 historians commissioned by CSPAN. The academics rated George Washington second best, followed by FDR. At the bottom of the list was James Buchanan. Andrew Johnson and Franklin Pierce were right above him. President George W. Bush came in at 36.

How's this for a 200th birthday present? A survey has concluded that President Lincoln was the best American president ever. That's according to a poll of 65 historians. SPAN commissioned the survey. And the academics rated George Washington second best, followed by FDR. At the bottom of the list: James Buchanan with Andrew Johnson and Franklin Pierce right above him. President George W. Bush came in at 36.
