Septuplets

GUESTS: Arthur Caplan Bioethicist, University of Pennsylvania Author, Due Consideration: Controversy in an Age ofMedical Miracles (Wiley and Sons, 1997) On Wednesday an Iowa woman gave birth to the first septuplets born in the US in 12 years - the second set ever known to be born alive. The babies - four boys and three girls - were delivered by Caesarean section by a team of more than 40 specialists. Ray talks to a mother, a medical ethicist and a neonatologist about multiple births and this historic event.
