Violinist Joseph Joachim
Violinist Joseph Joachim (YOH-seff yoh-AH[CH]-ihm) played an important role in the life of Johannes Brahms. Brahms turned to Joachim with all his questions on writing for strings and on orchestration. Joachim composed a few works of his own, including this Romance performed by violinist Marat Bisengaliev (mah-RAHT bis-sen-GAHL-yev) and pianist John Lenehan. (Naxos 8.553026)
