Sizing Up Obama's Economic Philosophy

Last week, President Obama signed a $410 billion spending bill, which will contribute to a projected record deficit of $1.7 trillion.

The omnibus spending bill comes as the president pledges to balance the budget and lawmakers grapple with the best way to solve the nation's economic crisis.

For a closer examination, Tony Cox speaks with News & Notes' economics contributors — Keith Reed, who blogs at Keith Reed's Money Corner, and author and economist Dr. Julianne Malveaux. Malveaux is president of Bennett College for Women.
