Last Chance To Submit Your Garlic Recipes
LIANE HANSEN, host:
We've been soliciting your best garlicky recipes for Easter over the past two weeks, and the stinking rose concoctions have been pouring in. California garlic farmer Chester Aaron has been busy chopping, slicing and mashing garlic to create your dishes.
He will pick the top three submissions, which will then be tried and tested by a panel of food experts. Chester says that like last week his top three favorites are still A.R. McNamara's(ph) mint garlic leg of lamb, Camille Napier Bernstein's(ph) green garlic crab cakes and Rachel Zamzer's(ph) tapas-style fried potatoes with shrimp and garlic.
But there's still time for his favorites to change. If you have a great garlic recipe, you can submit it on our blog, NPR.org/SoapBox. The last date for entries is tomorrow, noon, Eastern Time, Monday, March 23rd. By the way, Chester says he also likes to hear about different uses for garlic. One was a treatment for hemorrhoids. We won't ask how that works.
