Jamaica''s Death Penalty Controversy

NPR''s Phillip Davis reports from Kingston, Jamaica, on the public debate over the death penalty which supporters want to restore. Human rights groups, the United Nations, and Jamaica''s former colonial ruler, Britain, all oppose capital punishment. The Jamaican government is threatening to withdraw from the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council which serves as its highest court in London.
