Apec Summit Preview

NPR's John Ydstie reports on the issues that are likely to be discussed at this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, which begins next week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. President Clinton is scheduled to attend, although that may change if military action is taken against Iraq. Among U.S. goals at the APEC summit is a broad trade agreement, intended to open Asian markets and restore confidence in Asian economies.
