U.S. Avenges For Embassy Bombings

NPR's Ted Clark reports on President Clinton's explanation for U.S. Cruise missile strikes yesterday at targets in Afghanistan and Sudan. The targets, he said, are associated with terrorists believed to have carried out the bombings at U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania two weeks ago today. The President said that U.S. intelligence concluded that a wealthy Saudi expatriate, named Osama Bin Laden and his followers are responsible for the embassy bombings in East Africa, as well as other previous anti-American attacks.
