Minnesota Vs. Tobacco Industry

— Minnesota Public Radio's Elizabeth Stawicki reports that the tobacco industry is resting its case in the Minnesota tobacco trial. The State of Minnesota and Blue Cross and Blue Shield are suing the industry for 1.8 billion dollars, alleging that it defrauded the public and suppressed research into the harmful effects of smoking. Barring a settlement, this case would be the first state case against the tobacco industry to go before a jury.
