Communications Satellite Glitch

— NPR's Joe Neel reports on the malfunction of a major communications satellite late yesterday, which resulted in the loss of service to most of the nation's pagers. The satellite, known as Galaxy Four, is owned by PanAmSat Corporation. Several television and radio networks, including NPR, also had their broadcasts interrupted and had to seek alternative satellite connections.
