— NPR's Adam Hochberg reports that the Senate is debating comprehensive tobacco legislation, and whether to continue price supports for farmers. The tobacco price support program dates back to the Great Depression, and guarantees farmers a stable return for their crop. This week a new proposal has emerged in the Senate to phase out the program.
