— Toni Randolph of member station WBUR reports that a federal judge in Massachusetts has upheld the Boston School Department's policy of considering race as a factor in deciding admissions to three of the city's most prestigious and competitive schools. U.S. District Judge Joseph Tauro ruled yesterday that the policy did not violate a white student's Constitutional rights by refusing her admission to Boston Latin School.
