Teaching Kids To Read

— NPR's Michelle Trudeau reports on a new study regarding the best ways to teach children how to read. The study, released by the National Academy of Sciences, says parents should get kids interested in reading as early as possible... reading to them often and demonstrating a link between abstract words and information. The study also finds that both phonics and the whole-language approach are useful.
