— NPR's John McChesney reports that Ted Kaczynski has pleaded guilty to being the Unabomber. Yesterday Judge Garland Burrell denied Kaczysnki the right to represent himself. Faced with the prospect of watching his lawyers present a mental-defect defense, Kaczynski decided to exchange a guilty plea for a sentence of life in prison without parole. He will not recieve the death penalty.
