Temporary Employees Win

— NPR's Wendy Kaufman reports that yesterday the Supreme Court upheld a lower court's ruling against Microsoft in an employee-benefits case. The decision will directly affect as many as five thousand Microsoft temporary employees...making them eligible for the company's pension plan and allowing them to buy discounted Microsoft stock. The ruling could slow the growing national trend of companies trying to save money by hiring temporary workers. Temps are often not eligible for full employee benefits.
