China & Global Warming

— NPR's Kathleen Schalch reports on the critical role of China in the international debate on the threat of global warming. China emits the second largest amount of greenhouse gas, behind the United States. Much of that carbon dioxide comes from coal fired industry. Officials from around the world will discuss that and other aspects of global warming at a United Nations conference that begins Monday in Kyoto, Japan.
