Ambassador Burial Controversy

—NPR's Peter Overby reports that the widow of Ambassador M. Larry Lawrence has requested that her husband's remains be removed from Arlington National Cemetery and transported to San Diego for reburial. Lawrence's burial at Arlington became a controversy, after conservatives accused the Clinton administration with trading plots in Arlington Cemetery for campaign contributions. The White House denied the accusation. Last week, Republicans charged that Lawrence had fabricated his war record.
