Nichols Trial

— NPR's Mark Roberts reports from Denver on the start today of closing arguments in the penalty phase of convicted Oklahoma bombing conspirator Terry Nichols' trial. Prosecutors are expected to argue that Nichols deserves the death penalty because he helped plan and prepare the bombing that left 168 people dead and hundreds more injured. The defense is likely to argue that Nichols played a comparatively small part in the bombing, not enough to justify his execution.
