Unabomb Trial Delayed

NPR's John McChesney reports from Sacramento that Unabomber defendant Theodore Kaczynski now says he wants to act as his own defense attorney, and that he is willing to submit to a mental examination. The trial is likely to be delayed by another week or two. Opening statements, which had been rescheduled for yesterday, are again being postponed. It is suspected that Kaczynski tried to strangle himself Wednesday night.
