Gte Makes A Play For McI

—- Host Bob Edwards talks to Brian van Dusen, a telecommunications industry analyst with Yankee Group in Boston, about the latest offer to buy MCI, the country's second largest provider of long distance phone service. GTE announced that it's willing to pay MCI stockholders 28-billion dollars in cash. GTE is one of the nation's largest providers of local phone service. MCI already has offers from World Com and British Telecom.
