Teamsters Election

— NPR's Don Gonyea reports from Detroit on the federal decision to disqualify Teamsters Union President Ron Carey from running for reelection in February. A federally appointed official found that Carey knew about the misappropriation of union funds, which were then funneled into Carey's last election campaign, an allegation Carey still denies. The ruling means that James Hoffa, Junior, is almost certain to win the February election.
