Fish Killing Organism

— NPR's Richard Harris reports on public health concerns about a tiny organism that's been infecting and killing fish in rivers along the Eastern Seaboard. It's neither a bacterium nor a virus, nor is it a conventional parasite. The shape shifting creature, known as pfiesteria, a is a dinoflagellate. Scientists have evidence that pfiesteria not only kill fish but also pose a health risk to humans.
