Democrat Fundraising

— NPR's Peter Overby reports on testimony yesterday at two Congressional committees investigating Democratic Party fundraising practices during the 1996 election campaign. The Senate committee concentrated on an alleged money raising scheme, involving the Democratic National Committee and the re-election campaign of Teamsters Union President Ron Carey. The House committee focused on allegations that the D-N-C accepted illegal foreign contributions.
