A City Government For London

— NPR's Michael Goldfarb reports that the Labour governemnt in Great Britain has proposed to give London an elected mayor and city council for first time in a decade. Conservative Prime Minister Magaret Thatcher abolished the elected city government in 1986 in a political fight with its leftist leader.
