Trie's Role In Campaign Financing

— NPR's Peter Overby reports that the Senate committee investigating political fundraising is now focusing on Democratic contributor Charlie Trie, a longtime friend of President Clinton. Republicans suggest that Trie was involved in a money laundering scheme, raising illegal contributions from Macao and possibly China, and funneling them to the Democratic National Committee.
