Estrogen And The Elderly

—- NPR's Wendy Schmelzer reports that scientists are studying the effects of the hormone estrogen on memory and mood disorders in the elderly. Psychiatrists have found promising results of estrogen treatment helping slow the onset of Alzheimer's disease. They found also that estrogen seems to enhance the effect of the anti-depressant prozac...making it up to three times more successful.
