Pat Dowell Looks At The Newly-Released Directors Cut Of 'Das Boot,'

the classic German submarine film. With digital sound and an hour of footage not in the original, the film will again give viewers the experience of living among the sailors. The first time it was released, "Das Boot," inspired renewed contemplation of World War II in German. This time around, it is at the head of a pack of several new World War II movies.
