Women with pierced nipples sometimes run into problems breastfeeding.

If you are a mom with nipple jewelry, it is hard to know what the risks are because there is no research on the subject.

Dr. Sydney Spiesel is a practicing pediatrician at Yale Medical School and a writer for the online magazine Slate.

He talks to Alex Cohen about the state of medical research when it comes to obscure ailments.
