In The Knesset

NPR's Eric Weiner reports that Israel is headed for elections more than a year ahead of schedule because of a crisis over Prime Minister Netanyahu's handling of the peace process. The crisis was brought on by his decision to freeze the Wye River peace process. When a no-confidence motion against him was called in the Israeli parliament, Netanyahu said he would call early elections if the parliament failed to support his position on the peace process.
