Lipkin-Shahak Profile

NPR's Eric Weiner reports that the frontrunner in the upcoming Israeli election for prime minister is the former Army chief of staff, General Amnon Lipkin-Shahak. Today, Lipkin-Shahak retired from the army, paving the way for him to announce his candidacy. Polls show him far ahead of all opponents, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, even though no one has a clear idea what his politics are.
