Bailey White: 'Bus Ride'

It is an annual All Things Considered tradition - a story from Bailey White on Thanksgiving. Today's tale is called "Bus Ride." It is a journey from Tallahasee to Pensacola. On the bus are some lonely characters... from an anxious little boy whose mother walked out on the family, to a little old lady in white gloves, a bus driver who drove for Governor George Wallace, a "man of music," and a drooped old man who never says a word the entire trip.
