Singer-songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield of Kent, Ohio, began making music in her family band at the age of 8. By 15, she had cut White Lies, her first EP of original songs. A copy of her EP made its way to The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, who went on to produce her first full-length LP, With Blasphemy, So Heartfelt.
Mayfield has built a buzz opening for artists like The Avett Brothers and The Black Keys, and this month she's scheduled to tour with Ray LaMontagne. With a stark, haunting voice and swirling layers of guitar, Mayfield performs six songs from Blasphemy, with her brother David on bass, Anne Lillis on drums and Richie Kirkpatrick on guitar. Mountain Stage pianist Bob Thompson performs "Stars Fell on Alabama" following Mayfield's set.
