The new off-Broadway sensation "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" all began with musings on Plato's "Symposium." The notion of divided souls led playwright and actor John Cameron Mitchell to think about the divided city of Berlin...and about transvestites. So Mitchell has created a punk rock musical with composer and musician Stephen Trask about a transvestite glam rock performer from Berlin who marries a GI only to be divided again by divorce. The show has gotten great reviews...a movie deal has been clinched, and a CD is due out soon. Frank Browning reports.
