Secret Service Testimony

The Justice Department has said it will fight to prevent independent counsel Kenneth Starr from forcing Secret Service agents to testify before a grand jury investigating allegations involving President Clinton and a White House intern. The decision to go to bat for the Secret Service was a big one for the Justice Department, where prosecutors are always reluctant to limit the availability of evidence. But these concerns had to be weighed against the need for agents to do their jobs. NPR's Chitra Ragavan reports.
