NPR's Ted Clark reports that the Foreign Ministers of Russia, France, Great Britain and the U.S. gathered in Geneva today to discuss a Russian plan for defusing the conflict between Iraq and the U-N Security Council. The Russian proposal seeks to set a schedule for lifting six years of sanctions against Iraq. The proposal would also introduce a system to gradually reduce the scope of U-N inspections for arms of mass destruction.
