Deflation Scenario

NPR's John Ydstie reports the nation's economy expanded at a 3.5% annual rate in the third quarter. Inflation remained subdued, growing at the slowest rate in more than thirty years. Inflation is now so low that some economists are warning that the U.S. faces a greater threat from falling prices than from prices that rise too quickly.
