El Nino & L.A. Water

Liane talks with Joe Haworth (HAH-worth), a division engineer for the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. They discuss the preparations being made in Southern California for inclement weather that could be triggered by the El Nino (ell-NEEN-yoh) weather pattern. There is concern that harsh storms could hit the region this winter, and that flooding from those storms could overwhelm local sewer systems.
