Pilot-Tower Talk

Linda talks with Lieutenant General James Abrahamson, the Chairman and CEO of International Air Safety LCC. They discuss what happens when communications break down between pilots and air traffic controllers, and the extent to which miscommunicated English...which is the international language of air traffic control...is responsible for air accidents. There are indications today that the crash of an Indonesian jetliner last week may have been due to communications errors, rather than the bad visibility in the region caused by peat fires.
