How Sheikh Released

NPR's Eric Weiner reports from Jerusalem that Israel's release of Palestinian Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin (yah-SEEN) may have been part of a complicated swap for two alleged Israeli agents who tried to kill another Hamas leader in the Jordanian capital of Amman last week. The suspected Israeli agents were said to be posing as Canadian tourists — with Canadian passports. This evening, Canadian Foreign Minister Lloyd Axworthy announced that the Canadian ambassador to Israel is being recalled in protest.
