Do We Still Need The Voting Rights Act?
Since 1965, the Voting Rights Act has required state and local governments in 16 states to get approval from the Justice Department before they change election procedures.
The Supreme Court is considering a case from Canyon Creek, TX, that seeks to overturn part of the act.
