Montserrat

Derek talks with Eugene Skerritt, the permanent secretary to the Chief Minister of Montserrat. They discuss the development of a voluntary evacuation plan for the island, which is being menaced by an active volcano. Most of the residents of the island have already left, but approximately 4,000 remain. A British warship arrived off the coast of Montserrat today, ready to help with the evacuations. Officials say that the northern portions of the island are still safe, and that residents should not panic.
