Renowned Pakistani musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan died this weekend, at the age of 49. He suffered a heart attack. Nusrat Ali Khan's voice has become familiar in the United States with the explosion in the popularity of world music...one of his recordings, "Night Songs," was even nominated for a Grammy award. NPR's Michael Goldfarb has an appreciation of the voice...and the career...of this legendary performer.
