Intro To Orthodoxy

Audio for this story from All Things Considered is not available.

Commentator Frederica Matthewes-Green tells of her first contact with the Orthodox Church. Her husband, an Episcopal priest, gave up his position after 15 years to become a priest in the Orthodox Church. His was a personal search for truth, she says, and she was a reluctant participant. Orthodoxy was foreign to her. But five years ago they founded a little Orthodox mission in Baltimore, and she has grown to see the beauty in the ancient rituals.
