Shabazz Obit

Betty Shabazz, the widow of Malcolm X, died today in New York. Mrs. Shabazz had been severely burned in a fire allegedly set by her 12-year-old grandson, Malcolm, in her Yonkers, New York apartment, and doctors had held out little hope of her survival. NPR's Sunni Khalid reports on her life and legacy, and the remarkable tragedies that affected her family.
