Cold Mountain

Alan Cheuse has a review of "Cold Mountain", the first novel from writer Charles Frazier. It's the story of a veteran's return home after the Civil War, with all the classic themes or return, rebirth, and redemption that are often found in "lost wanderer" narratives such as the Odyssey. Cheuse says the book is beautifully written and has a compelling story. (STATIONS: "Cold Mountain" is by Charles Frazier, and is published by the Atlantic Monthly Press.)
