Kabila's Arrival

Linda talks with NPR's Michael Skoler in Kinshasa about the arrival there today of Laurent Kabila, the new ruler of the renamed Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire. Kabila's forces took the capital this past weekend, driving longtime dictator Mobutu Sese Seko into exile. Kabila's aides say he will announce the formation of a transitional government. Analysts are watching closely to see if Kabila will select personalities who had led the non-violent opposition to Mobutu for the past several years.
