Iraq Helicopters

Saddam Hussein defied the United Nations today by sending his helicopters over the designated "no-fly" zone in southern Iraq. The mission was to transport Iraqi Muslims returning from a pilgrimage to to Mecca. NPR's Tom Gjelten reports the United States is denouncing the violation of the no-fly rule, but will not respond with military action. U.S. officials say Saddam only wants "to pick a fight" with the United States over the ban.
